Heart Radical a finalist in SheWrites/Spark Press's 2019 Contest

Although Heart Radical was not selected as the winner, I was thrilled to be 1 of 5 finalists in the 2nd year of their STEP contest which supports women writers of color. SheWrites was the 2019 Indie Publisher of the year and is a hybrid press, which normally means that authors front the money to publish their book, but keep more of the royalties. It’s a great path for those who have high quality books and writing careers they want to invest in, but for whatever reason have not been deemed “marketable” enough for the mainstream publishing industry.
